Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information MagiFiler ("the App") collects and how it is used and protected. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
License information: the email address used for your purchase, along with the order ID, amount, and currency recorded by the payment provider. These are used only to issue and recover your license key.
Device information: when you activate MagiFiler Pro, the App sends a randomly generated device identifier and device name to our license server, for license authorization and device-count management (each key can be activated on up to 3 devices).
The App has no account system: no registration is required, and we do not collect any passwords.
2. File Processing
The core feature of the App is local file management — browsing, searching, renaming, duplicate detection (hashing), compression, and preview are all performed locally on your device.
AI semantic search runs on a local model: the model file is downloaded from Hugging Face (or its mirror site), and all text embedding and semantic indexing are computed locally on your device. Your file contents are never uploaded to our servers, and we cannot and do not wish to access the files you manage.
If you use the SMB network-share feature, you connect to servers you specify; connection details are stored only on your device.
3. How We Use Information
We use the collected information to issue, activate, and recover license keys; verify license authorization and device count; prevent abuse and fraud; and provide customer support when necessary.
4. Storage and Security
License data is transmitted over HTTPS. The device identifier is randomly generated and contains no personal identity information. Local configuration data (including the license key and device identifier) is stored only on your device. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no Internet transmission can be guaranteed absolutely secure.
5. Third-Party Services
Payment services: purchases are processed by the Creem payment platform. The payment process is governed by Creem's privacy policy; we only receive the email and order information needed to issue your license.
AI model download: the App downloads the embedding model file from Hugging Face (or its mirror site). No data of yours is uploaded during the download.
Apart from the services above, we do not sell or share your personal information with any third party.
6. Your Rights
You can view and manage your activated devices in the App. To access, correct, or delete the license information associated with your email, or to unbind all devices, please contact: support@uglypear.com. After deletion, your email and device information will be removed from our servers (except where retention is required by law). Uninstalling the App (or deleting its local configuration directory) removes all locally stored data.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will display the updated version in the App. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notices or announcements on our website.
